RECIPIENT OF THE PETER AND MELISSA HEBBARD SCHOLARSHIP
Tenor Cameron Sibly is an emerging performer from Hobart, currently living in Melbourne. He has been a member of Opera Scholars Australia for three years and is the proud recipient of the Peter and Melissa Scholarship. Cameron has performed the roles of Lopez in Our Man in Havana and Bruschino Jr in Il Signore Bruschino with Lyric Opera of Melbourne as well as Pepe in Il Pagliacci with National Touring Opera. Cameron has understudied the roles of Pigmalion in Pigmalion and Florville in Il Signor Bruschino.
Cameron has performed in the chorus of Fidelio, La Traviata, Rienzi, Madama Butterfly, The Pearl Fishers, Der Freishutz, Tannhäuser, Anna Bolena and Lohengrin with the Melbourne Opera Company.
Cameron studies under the tutelage of Roger Howell, a student of Maestro Fernando Bandera, who for thirty years was Vocal Advisor to La Scala in Milan. Before opera, Cameron began his performing arts career in college musical productions and with The Old Nick Company in Hobart.
Outside of performing, Cameron is studying for his Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
