MADELEINE CROMBIE

SCHOLAR OF THE YEAR 2017
RECIPIENT OF THE LATE BETTY AMSDEN AO SCHOLARSHIP

Soprano Madeleine Crombie completed her Bachelor of Music at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in 2015 and is completing her fourth year in the Opera Scholars Australia (OSA) program. In January, Madeleine was named the 2017 OSA Opera Scholar of the Year winner and the proud recipient of the Late Betty Amsden AO Scholarship.

Madeleine has recently finished a season with Melbourne Opera as a chorus member in their production of Wagner’s Lohengrin after a successful season of Tannhäuser in 2016.

In 2016, Madeleine performed the role of Zerlina from Mozart’s Don Giovanni with Cordelia’s Potted Opera. In May 2015 she played the role of ‘Mirror’ in Gordon Kerry’s new opera Snow White and Other Grimm Tales at the Melbourne Recital Centre.

Madeleine is currently studying a Masters Degree in Arts and Cultural Management at the University of Melbourne, whilst continuing her vocal studies with Roger Howell.
