Shakira Dugan

MEZZO SOPRANO
RECIPIENT OF THE WHITE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

Shakira is a mezzo soprano from Stratford. She completed her Bachelor of Music at the Melbourne Conservatorium in 2015.

Shakira joined Opera Scholars Australia (OSA) as a regional summer scholar in 2015 and was a finalist for 2017. She is a recipient of the Sylvia Fisher scholarship awarded by the late Fra Richard Divall and is currently the OSA recipient of the White Foundation scholarship.

Shakira understudied the role of Smeton in Melbourne Opera's Anna Bolena and played the role of Saint Teresa II in the Victorian Youth Opera's production of Four Saints in Three Acts.

She is currently a 2017 developing artist for Victorian Opera performing in their regional tour of Hansel and Gretel. Shakira will also appear in Victorian Opera’s Heroes and Villains and the Snow Queen.
