JORDAN AULD

RECIPIENT OF THE PETER AND MELISSA HEBBARD SCHOLARSHIP

Jordan Auld is a classically trained Soprano with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree in vocal performance from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. In 2018, Jordan was a 2018/2019 Scholar in the Opera Scholars Australia developing artist program, which she continues this year as The Peter and Melissa Hebbard Scholarship recipient, and was also awarded runner-up in the Acclaim Awards Sleath Lowry competition. For 2019, Jordan features in both Melbourne operas’ productions of Wagner’s Der Fliegende Holländer and Bellini’s Norma. In March, Jordan travelled to China with the Australian International Opera Company, where she covered the lead role of Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, whilst also performing in the ensemble. Jordan was absolutely thrilled to join the touring cast for 2019. Jordan looks forward to making another role debut this year with Opera Van Diemensland, performing Musetta in Puccini’s La Boheme in July.

Whilst completing her studies, Jordan participated in a variety of productions at the Conservatorium, most notably in Jane Davidson's production of the Dialogues of the Carmelites (2018) where she played Sister Mathilde, and Davidson’s stage setting of Pergolesi's Stabat Mater in Passion, Lament, Glory, playing Mother Mary (2017). Externally, Jordan made her operatic debut last year in Savoy Opera Company's production of The Gondoliers, playing the role of Casilda.
